I think 1 cup of Cashew paste is too much, would be a heavy in my opinion. The recipe of Butter Chicken which I follow from a Punjabi chef, I do not add Cashew at all. I understand there are lot of version but I think 1 cup is way too much. Would you please share your recipe so I can try to make it?
This version of Butter Chicken wouldn’t really work with Tomato Paste as a substitution. You might need a more traditional recipe if you don’t want to use the soup

Awesome version of butter chicken. Though the main ingredient for butter chicken is cashew nuts, so instead of the sour cream and one can of the tomato soup, u could have used one cup of cashew nut paste. Im sure this version tastes great too. Happy cooking.
You can replace the sour cream with natural yoghurt or a little pouring cream if you prefer

Yes, but I recommend adding a pinch of sugar to it, as this will help reduce the acidity in the tomato puree

Great idea to use the tomato soup and will try this recipe..I think 2 cans may be too much but that is just my taste I guess, dont want it to be too saucy but thanks for the recipe
