Vegan For Beginners: Dinner Ideas

Welcome to the new series: Vegan For Beginners! These videos will include recipes and information that is aimed at people who are new vegans or what to start eating more plant-based. That being said, anyone can get something out of this! The recipes are my normal style of simple, easy, and quick to make so they are perfect for everyone to have in their back pocket! Enjoy.

Dinner 1:
1/2 cup quinoa + 1 cup water
2 veggie burger patties
1 tbsp oil
1/3 orange bell pepper, chopped
1/4 cup chopped red onion
bbq sauce
crispy wonton pieces (optional)

Cook quinoa according to package directions. Heat a frying pan on medium heat for 30 seconds, then add oil and let heat another 30 seconds. Add veggie burger patties and cook according to package directions (usually around 5 minutes per side). When you flip them to the other side, add the veggies into the pan and chop up the patties into bite-size pieces. Add some bbq sauce and cook another couple minutes to add some extra flavour. Assemble the bowl, adding everything in (or as much as you want to eat) plus some fresh spinach and crispy wonton pieces if you have them. Enjoy!!

Dinner 2:
100 g dry rice noodles
3 oz. tofu, pressed and cubed
1 tbsp oil
1/3 orange bell pepper, sliced
1/4 cup chopped green onion
sweet Thai chilli sauce

Cook rice noodles according to package directions. In a frying pan on medium heat, heat oil for 30 seconds, then add tofu cubes and cook, flipping occasionally until golden brown add over. Add green onion and bell pepper and cook another minute or two. Reduce the heat to low and add enough chilli sauce to coat the tofu and veggies. Cook for just another minute, then serve over noodles and spinach. Enjoy!

  1. Yes!!! These are so perfect!! I’ve been in a rut with my meal prepping and these were perfect. Thank you!!!

  2. I love getting tofu when I go out for Thai food and I've been wanting to try making it at home but it intimidates me. You made it seem so simple in this video, I'm determined to get some next time I go shopping. 🙂

  3. Basti Halligalli

You could add a small instagram icon next to your name…so people know that thats your instagram.

  4. you don't rinse your quinoa?

  5. I did that veggie burger trick the other day to make loaded “burger” fries. I chopped the veggie burger into little pieces and put it on top of air fried fries with vegan cheese, chopped lettuce, tomato, pickles, a little bit of ketchup and vegan mayo 😋 not the healthiest but it was really good.

  6. I love making Asian inspired recipes with tofu. I usually make my own sauce, but I think I will try it with sweet chili sauc on nights when I don't feel like whipping up a sauce. Thanks for the awesome recipes!

  7. Love it! Have you got any ideas for beet root recipes? 🙂 xx

  8. Addison Wonderland

I love that you're doing this series. Cooking at home is so handy when going vegan but some people may feel intimidated by the kitchen if they've never cooked alot of vegetables before.

  9. Thats great 😀 Not just for beginners but also for people (like me) who dont like to cook a lot ^^

  10. Could you make a video showing high calory vegan recipes? I've struggled with weight problems for years and want to cook more vegan food but most vegan recipes don't make me feel full for a very long time…

  11. I know these are gonna be good, thanks Liv!

  12. love love love

  13. Apparentlyitsnena

Yess! Thanks girl, this is gonna come in handy♥️☺️ loved the video

  14. Both of these look so yummy and are so easy. Your not a true Vegan until you master the art of throwing a bunch of crap together and calling it a Buddha bowl🍜-!!!

  15. I really love your recipes Liv….your recipes are awesome….💖💖💖💖😃

  16. Love the idea of a beginners vegan series

  17. thank u so much I’m trying to be vegan since I can’t eat certain things !! :))

  18. Madison Nankervis

Love this new segment! One thing to say is that maybe 3 recipes would be better. I feel like 2 is too few. Otherwise looovvvvve it

  19. could you do snacks? like not even necessarily recipes but like chips and crackers and stuff lol

  20. Gabriela Lazcano

Your eyes are stunning ! 😍

  21. from the inside out

  23. Nikki van Amstel

I really appreciate your easy food options. I am a no nonsense cook and love straight forward meals. I also appreciate you keeping it simple with the same vegetables for each dish.
